It's been right at two years ago now. Yes, Dallas is almost two years old. I mean, really, where does the time go? I remember way back in February 2014, I was due February 24, and I waited for something, just anything to happen. Nothing. So, fast forward to be being 40 weeks and 3 days, I was induced. 40 weeks, 4 days and he was born.

I was a first time mom, I was so lost on everything. I had read the book I was given by my OBGYN, What To Expect When Your Expecting, I had read books showing progress by the week, just about anything you could think of. I thought I knew it all, but I didn't. While I was within birthing distance, as in a few hours away, I cut off everyone from coming in. I didn't want a soul in there, other than my husband and myself. When it came time to push, I mean seriously, I was completely numb. I didn't know how to push considering I had no way to feel if I really was indeed pushing. I had three nurses helping me, guiding me with my pushing. I had two nurses in particular. One was Kristi, the other Brittney. Kristi kept up with my contractions, heart rate, IV fluids, things like that. Brittney helped with anything she could. Things from holding up my leg while I pushed, to checking vitals in between.

Excuse how rough I looked, I wasn't able to pull off the I-don't-look-like-I-just-gave-birth flawless look.

I only pushed for 2 hours, and then I had Dallas. I was in awe with how perfect he was.

They took him to the nursery shortly after. It wasn't very long after that, they had told us he was having some bad problems with Acid Reflux. He would have to be on Enfamil AR to reduce it. I had these nurses explain to me the steps of what I needed to do to prevent major spit-ups, and they showed me how to properly hold him while being fed, and how to dress him and diaper him without irritating his umbilical cord. Explain how to bathe him until his cord fell off, how often to feed him, etc.. Just the little things like that helped me in so many more ways than one. These nurses helped literately teach me the basic and must-knows of a newborn. They even supplied me with Pamper Swaddlers to use, too, until his cord fell off, because they have the cut-outs just for this! For this I would really like to thank them.
