Selestial Non-Toxic Insect Repellent & Sunscreen {Review}

As many of you have probably seen here at Settled In The South, we love trying out new things from Selestial (the company behind My Green Fills). They have all natural, non-toxic laundry detergents, fabric softeners, color brighteners, etc. that you can have shipped to your door monthly, according to your family size, you can receive a decent amount of products, for a super reasonable price. The last thing we reviewed for My Green Fills was their Dryer Angel, which is an stitched angel, with a bag of little crystals made from essential oils, that not only freshen your laundry, but rids it of static and wrinkles.

Back to the subject here. Selestial now has Selestial Life products, which include two absolute must-haves: their all natural, non-toxic insect repellent, I'll Fly Away, and their also all natural, non-toxic mineral sunscreen, which is absolutely perfect for use on babies and small children, You Are My Sunshine.

Both come in full size bottles, also received very nice travel sized bottles of each as well. I let a family member have the travel sized to use on her 7 month old son, because she was unsure about all the products she had seen on the shelves at Walmart and such. I handed them to her, and told her to give them a try.

The one who I gave the travel sized bottled to, her husband is my boyfriends's cousin. So, we all decided to go to the dam, for the men to do a little night fishing. While out there, the bugs were the worst I had even witnessed. The sun was setting, and was at the right angle to see all the insects in the air. We sprayed the boys down in the insect spray and gave it awhile. While we were all covered in mosquito bites, neither of the boys had a single bite on them. The smell of the I'll Fly Away is surprisingly pleasant, as it smells like a citronella candle (a scent I absolutely love!). This stuff absolutely works, and it so worth buying, especially if you're going to be doing a lot of camping and outdoor activities this summer. You can purchase one of the normal size spray bottles, with the little field sprayer for just $12!

Now, the sunscreen. What I love the most about it is that is rubs in quickly, with no leftover, thick residue. It isn't greasy feeling on your skin like most brands of sunscreen are, and it really works well! We went to the lake for a couple of hours, and I covered my son in it so that he wouldn't experience his first bad sunburn, and even after 2-3 hours in the water, then some time out, he never got any bit of a burn. It smells so good, and it's all natural, so it's perfectly safe for me to use on my 2 year old nephew, without worrying. You can purchase your very own from the link provided towards the top of this post for just $14.95! It is well worth it just to know that your kids health is in the clear!

Stating Facts, Desiree.
